Community Service
Volunteering your own time to help others in the community, is a great way of making a real impact on the people and the world around you. Besides building your self-esteem and confidence, it is also a great way of socially engaging with people who have similar interests.
In December 2020, I returned as a volunteer lifesaver at South Curl Curl SLSC. Being part of a patrol and giving back to the community has had an enormous impact on my mental health and well-being. This would not be possible without the help, support and friendship, that I receive from every member of Patrol H.
For the last two years, I’ve volunteered as a lifesaver to act as ‘water safety’ for the Malabar Magic Ocean Swim. This is an organisation that raises funds for The Rainbow Club, a swim school for children and young adults with disabilities.
